Happy Anniversary and SEMA Show

Light the birthday candle....TundraAccessoryStore celebrated it's first anniversary of operation just before the Christmas Holidays. To all my customers, a BIG THANK YOU! surviving in the internet world is not easy and I appreciate your business!

2008 was not a lot of fun for many with all the bad news but I can tell you that despite all the doom and gloom, the SEMA Show (Specialty Equipment Market Association) went on and was a highlight of the year. SEMA puts on one of the largest Trade Shows in the country, but it's significance is that all the new, hot, aftermarket products for cars and trucks are displayed there for all those in the Trade to see. It is in all manufacturers (Vehicles, speed/custom/racing/truck parts) best interst to be there, be seen and introduce all their wares. Because of the timing of the show, it is considered the begining of the next buying season. Parts are often introduced at SEMA in November, produced and distributed through the Winter so they are in place to be sold when Spring rolls around.

Since the current Tundra platform is in it's third model year, there are not a lot of new parts that have not been introduced before. Some companies were finally bringing to market their Tundra products...I guess they wanted to see if there would be demand for them? But some of the biggest things that caught my eye were in the Toyota display.

Toyota Tundra Motorcycle Racing Support Truck

Does your Motorcycle racing team have a fully equipped support truck like this? Notice how the bedside is modified to swing up out of the way to reveal the storage areas? Kinda makes a RamBox on the new Dodge look tame doesn't it? This is a one-off c

Hot Rod Tundra

I almost missed this truck in the Toyota booth, Short bed and standard cab with a Flat Black paint-job and blacked-out wheels, Monster Tach on the dash....I wondered what was all the excitement about till I saw a TRD Supercharged 5.7L under the hood

Smooth and Clean Street Tundra

This standard cab, short bed Tundra was outside the LasVegas Convention Center at SEMA, I thought the red accent stripe on the black wheels was a nice touch! While a very simple and clean approach, I liked this Tundra the best of the show. See the d

Did you see the Tundra on Trucks on Spike TV?

Did you happen to catch a recent episode of Trucks as part of the PowerBlock on Spike TV that featured the build up of a Tundra 4WD?The episode featured the installation of a 6" SkyJacker lift kit.

Installation of this kit requires that the stock crossmember be cut out of the frame, the resulting holes boxed in (welded in) and a new, bolt-on crossmember installed that allows the necessary clearance. While I was watching this episode, I wondered how many Tundra owners would want to cut up their new truck?

So I have installed a survey on the TundraAccessoryStore webstore in the Tundra Lift Kits and Leveling Kits page. Let me know what you think about doing such a modification. The survey will be up till the end of February.

While I am happy to see that the media is finally addressing the popularity of modifying the Tundra, I wonder what you the Tundra owners feel about such things and do they represent what you want to do to your Tundra.

Thanks for your time, and I look forward to seeing the survey results.
